Asahi Shimbun announced the winners of the 30th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize on Wednesday. The awards ceremony will be held on June 11 at the Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Chiyoda, Tokyo.

Grand Prize: Hon nara Uru hodo by Ao Kojima
New Work Prize: Kaijuu wo Kaibou suru by Mado Saitou
Short Work Prize: Atarashii Tomodachi by Kawajiro
Special Prize: Peleliu: Rakuen no Guernica by Kazuyoshi Takeda

Ten nominees were announced by Asahi Shimbun in February, chosen by bookstore staff and experts from a list of titles that had at least one volume released last year. The nominees for the grand prize, including the winner, were Iemori Kitan, Kimi to Uchuu wo Aruku Tame ni, Kore Kaite Shine, Qudu, Sukima, Solaris, Hanbun Kyoudai, Ball and Chain, and Roca. The Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize was established in 1997 and is an annual manga prize awarded to mangaka and their works that best follow the manga approach of the late Osamu Tezuka.
