The official website of the Nageki no Bourei wa Intai shitai (Let This Grieving Soul Retire) television anime announced a sequel on Wednesday, revealing an announcement promo. Chiiko, the original character designer, drew an illustration commemorating the announcement (pictured).

Produced by Zero-G, the anime series adapting Tsukikage's action fantasy light novel began airing on October 1. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles.

Tsukikage began penning the novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in January 2018. Micro Magazine began publishing the title under its GC Novels imprint in August that year, featuring illustrations by Chiiko. The 12th volume went on sale on September 30.

Rai Hebino began serializing a manga adaptation on the ComicWalker website in April 2019. Kadokawa released the tenth volume on September 27.

Sol Press licensed the light novel in English in November 2020 and released the first volume in December that year. After Sol Press went defunct in 2021, J-Novel Club acquired the light novel in July 2022. The fifth volume shipped on September 9, with the sixth volume planned for a January 13, 2025 release.

Yen Press licensed the manga adaptation in May 2021 and released the eighth volume on August 20.

Synopsis
As dungeon-like treasure vaults started appearing throughout the land, more and more people began signing up as treasure hunters—risking their lives to obtain the vast riches and ancient relics inside. In the imperial capital of Zebrudia, the top hunter party is the Grieving Souls—a group of six childhood friends led by Krai Andrey, who is thought to be the strongest of them due to having a reputed wide array of skills.

However, Krai actually has no special talent. His accomplishments are actually the result of his friends being overpowered. Krai has repeatedly attempted to leave the party out of fear his lack of aptitudes would one day cause his companions' downfall. Nevertheless, everyone around Krai thinks differently, making him feel obligated to remain the group's leader. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
