'Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai' Anime Gets Finale Movie

The official website of the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) television anime announced on Wednesday that a finale movie is in production.

The announcement was made following the broadcast of the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Otona e no Kaidan (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -Stairway to Adulthood-) television special (pictured right). The finale will be based on an original story written by the original creator Aka Akasaka.

The anime series adapts Akasaka's romantic comedy manga, which began in Miracle Jump in May 2015 and switched to Young Jump the following March. Shueisha published the 28th and final volume in December 2022. Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai has a cumulative 24 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.

The first season aired in Winter 2019. Aniplex of America licensed the anime and simulcast it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu. The second season aired in Spring 2020. Funimation simulcast the second season and subsequently began streaming an English dub. The third season aired in Spring 2022. Crunchyroll simulcasted the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

The Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai sequel movie premiered in December 2022.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English under its Shonen Jump imprint in February 2018 and published the 28th and final volume in April 2024.
