'Fune wo Amu' Adds Supporting Cast Members
The official website for noitaminA’s previously announced Fall 2016 anime Fune wo Amu has announced additional cast members as well as the opening theme song. The series is expected to premiere on October 14, 2016 via Fuji TV at 0:55 a.m. A pre-screening event promoted by Japan Publishing Industry Foundation of Culture (JPIC) will be held on October 1, 2016 and featuring the first two episodes of the series. The main cast for the series was announced in August.

Opening Theme Song: "Shiokaze" by Taiiku Okazaki
The anime series adapts the novel written by Shion Miura, which was published in 2011. A live-action film adaptation of the novel premiered in 2013 and received the Picture of the Year award in the 37th Japan Academy Prize. The movie was later that year submitted by Japan, under its English title The Great Passage, for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
