Manga 'Ninja to Gokudou' Gets TV Anime
Production and distribution company Nikkatsu announced a television anime adaptation of Shinsuke Kondou's Ninja to Gokudou (Ninja vs. Gokudo) manga on Monday. Kondou drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement (pictured).
The seinen action manga began on the Comic Days website and app in January 2020. Kodansha published the 14th volume on November 13 last year.
Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in July 2023 and released the fifth volume on January 21. The sixth volume is planned for a March 18 release.
Synopsis
Since ancient times, the ninja and the yakuza have been at war, spilling blood around the world as empires rise and fall. So when, in the modern age, Shinoha, a ninja, meets Kiwami, a gangster following the path of the yakuza—the gokudo—and discovers they have common interests, the obvious assumption is that nothing good can come of it. But can it be that one burgeoning bromance will shake up a 300-year grudge?
