'Ao no Hako' Unveils Main Staff, Supporting Cast, Second Teaser Promo, Fall 2024 Premiere
The Ao no Hako (Blue Box) special stage at AnimeJapan2024 unveiled the main staff, supporting cast and a second teaser promotional video on Saturday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2024 at 11:56 p.m. on TBS' 28 affiliated channels.
Yuuichirou Yano (Lupin III (2015)) is directing the anime at Telecom Animation Film. Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru 2) is handling the series composition and Miho Tanino is designing the characters. Unlimited Produce by TMS is credited for planning and production.
The anime adapts Kouji Miura's sports romance manga, which she originally published as a one-shot in Weekly Shounen Jump in August 2020. The manga began serializing in the magazine the following April. Shueisha published the 14th volume on March 4.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in April 2021. The ninth volume went on sale on March 5, and the tenth volume is scheduled to ship on May 7. Shueisha is also publishing the manga in English on its Manga Plus website and app.
