'Burn the Witch' Anime Prequel Announced

The official website for the anime adaptation of Tite Kubo's Burn the Witch announced a prequel titled Burn the Witch 0.8 on Saturday. The website also revealed returning staff, cast, and a teaser promotional video.

Returning cast reprising their roles includes Asami Tano as Ninny Spangcole, Yuina Yamada as Noel Niihashi, Shinba Tsuchiya as Balgo Ywain Parks, Hiroaki Hirata as Billy Banx Jr., and Rie Hikisaka as Osushi-chan.

Tatsurou Kawano (Burn the Witch) returns to helm the anime at Studio Colorido and team Yamahitsuji.

The prequel adapts Kubo's one-shot manga which was released on the Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in July 2018.

A 4-chapter manga by Kubo serialized in the same magazine from August to September 2020. Shueisha shipped the volume, including the one-shot, in October of the same year. Viz Media licensed the manga in English and published the volume in the same month.

Studio Colorido and team Yamahitsuji produced an anime movie adapting the 4-chapter series in October 2020. Crunchyroll simulcasts the anime with English subtitles and dub.
