New 'WIXOSS' TV Anime Series Announced for 2020
The WIXOSS Presentation 2020 livestream event announced a new television anime for the franchise on Thursday. The new series will broadcast this year.
Graphic design company NC Teikoku (Urahara title logo) is credited for the visual concept. Illustrator Ui Shigure (Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy) is designing the characters.
Based on Takara Tomy's trading card game, Selector Infected WIXOSS, the first anime series, debuted in Spring 2014. The second season, Selector Spread WIXOSS, aired in Fall that year. The Selector Destructed WIXOSS compilation film opened in Japan in February 2016.
A new anime project in the franchise, Lostorage Incited WIXOSS, premiered in Fall 2016, which was followed by an original video anime in December 2017. Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS, the second and latest anime series (pictured right), aired in Spring 2018.
Funimation licensed the first two anime seasons in North American and shipped them on home video in September 2015 and June 2016, respectively. Crunchyroll simulcast the two seasons in the new anime project as they aired in Japan.
