'Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre' 2nd Season in Production

Netflix Japan announced on Thursday that a second season for Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre (Baki Hanma) is in production. The new season will stream worldwide exclusively on Netflix.

Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre adapts Keisuke Itagaki's sequel manga, which he launched in December 2005, following the ending of Baki: New Grappler Baki the month prior. The manga concluded in Shounen Champion in August 2012. Itagaki then ran Baki-dou in the same magazine from March 2014 to April 2018, and began its second part in October that year.

TMS Entertainment adapted Baki: New Grappler Baki into a 26-episode anime series that streamed on Netflix from June to December in 2018. The Baki: Dai Raitaisai-hen (Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament) sequel debuted on the same platform in June 2020. Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre, the latest installment, streamed on Netflix in 12 episodes last September.
