Manga 'Kengan Ashura' Voted to Get Anime Adaptation
Web comic magazine Ura Sunday held a fan contest in January 2015 to determine which manga it publishes will be getting an anime adaptation. Manga Kengan Ashura will receive an anime adaptation for winning the contest with 2 million votes. More information will be revealed by the magazine at a later time.
Kengan Ashura is written by Yabako Sandrovich and is illustrated by Daromeon. It began serialization in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday magazine in April 2012. The 12th volume of the manga was released in April 2015 and is still currently publishing.
Synopsis
Since the Edo periods of Japan, gladiator arenas exist in certain areas. In these arenas, wealthy business owners and merchants hire gladiators to fight in unarmed combat where the winner takes all. Tokita Ouma, nicknamed "Ashura," joins these arenas and devastates his opponents.
