Manga 'Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu' Gets TV Anime in 2023
Frontier Works announced on Thursday that a television anime adaptation of Hitsuji Yamada's Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu (The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today) manga is in production. The company also opened an official website and revealed a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
Yamada began drawing the slice of life comedy manga as a web comic on the challenge section of comico in October 2017. The manga began serializing on the Suiyoubi no Sirius magazine in August 2018. Kodansha shipped the fifth volume on June 9 last year and will release the sixth volume on the same date this year. Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu has a cumulative 900,000 copies in circulation.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in February 2021. The fourth volume was released on May 24, with the fifth volume scheduled to ship on September 6.
Synopsis
When Saku took in a stray black cat, she never expected that he would become the equivalent of a housekeeping life partner. But Yukichi, a giant cat who towers over Saku, is not your ordinary feline. He takes great pride in his culinary skills, and a good sale at the supermarket always gets his whiskers twitching. Saku may not have her act together yet, but at least she has Yukichi!
