'Ishura' Unveils Pair of Additional Cast
The official website of the Ishura television anime announced a pair of additional cast on Thursday. The anime series is scheduled for a January 2024 premiere and will exclusively stream worldwide on Disney+.
Nobuhiko Okamoto (Boku no Hero Academia) and Takehito Koyasu (Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (TV)) are joining the cast as Kasugai no Hidou and Hayakisumi Jelky, respectively.
Yuuki Ogawa (Ishuzoku Reviewers) is directing the television anime at Passione. Kenta Ihara (Tomodachi Game) is handling the series composition and script. Youko Kikuchi (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These) and Yuka Takashina (Plunderer) are designing the characters. Masahiro Tokuda (Platinum End) is composing the music.
Ishura adapts Keiso's action fantasy light novel, which originally began on the Kakuyomu website in June 2017, followed by Shousetsuka ni Narou the following month. Kadokawa began publishing the series with illustrations by Kureta under its Dengeki no Shin Bungei label in September 2019. The seventh volume shipped on February 17.
Meguri began drawing a manga adaptation in Monthly Shounen Magazine in March 2021. Kodansha published the second volume in December 2021.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in September 2021 and shipped the fourth volume on July 18. The fifth volume is planned for a November 21 release.
