Manga 'Trillion Game' Gets TV Anime Adaptation
Publishing company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Riichiro Inagaki and Ryouichi Ikegami's Trillion Game on Friday, scheduled to broadcast on TBS and other channels. Ikegami drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement (pictured).
Inagaki (Dr. Stone, Eyeshield 21) and Ikegami (Sanctuary, Crying Freeman) began serializing the seinen drama manga in Big Comic Superior in December 2020. Shogakukan published the seventh volume on July 12. Trillion Game has a cumulative 1.5 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
A television drama adaptation produced by TBS debuted on July 14, starring idol group Snow Man's Ren Meguro as Haru Tennouji and actor Hayato Sano as Manabu "Gaku" Taira. The drama series began developing original content episode eight onward, having adapted all available chapters.
Trillion Game placed among the top 20 titles in the Male Readers division in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2022 rankings, and was nominated for the 15th Manga Taisho awards and 7th Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho.
Synopsis
Meet Haru Tennouji, a charismatic communicator beloved by all, regardless of age or gender. He may come across as easygoing, but beneath that façade lies an unwavering ambition for success. When offered a prestigious position at the nation's largest IT company, "Dragon Bank," he does the unexpected—turning it down in favor of embarking on an entrepreneurial journey alongside his friend, Manabu Taira. Their audacious objective: to amass a staggering 1 trillion dollars.
Now, let's introduce Manabu, a brilliant engineer armed with remarkable IT acumen. Personality-wise, he's the antithesis of Haru—introverted, and a tad awkward in social interactions. Having faced rejection from "Dragon Bank" due to his communication challenges, he joins forces with Haru, sharing in the colossal ambition of earning that elusive 1 trillion dollars.
