'Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu.' Gets Second Season
The official website of the Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu. (The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior) television anime announced a second season on Monday. The website also revealed a commemorative illustration by the original character designer Suzunosuke (pictured).
The first season produced by OLM began airing in July 2023. Sentai Filmworks licensed and simulcast the anime on HIDIVE with subtitles and dub.
The anime adapts Tenichi's fantasy romance novel, which he began writing on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2018. Ichijinsha began publishing the series under its Iris Neo label in June 2019, featuring illustrations by Suzunosuke. The tenth volume was released on April 2, with the 11th volume scheduled for a July 2 release.
Bunko Matsuura began serializing a manga adaptation on Zero-Sum Online in March 2019 and ended last October due to the mangaka's poor health. The third and final volume shipped in January 2022.
A new manga adaptation by Akiko Kawano began serialization on Zero-Sum Online in June 2023. The second volume was released on January 31.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and the first manga adaptation in English in June 2021. The light novel's eighth volume was released on February 25, with the ninth volume scheduled to go on sale on September 23, while the third and final volume of the first manga adaptation shipped in February 2023.
