Originally included in the 42nd volume, the television special will adapt the story titled More, following Deku and the others beyond the ending of the main story.
Produced by Bones, the first anime season aired in 13 episodes in Spring 2016. The second to seventh season premiered in Spring 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2019, Spring 2021, Fall 2022, and Spring 2024 respectively. The final season aired in 11 episodes in Fall 2025.
The 13th and 14th volumes included two original video anime episodes in April and June 2017. The fourth and latest movie, You're Next, premiered in August 2024.
The anime series adapts Kouhei Horikoshi's action superhero manga, which drew inspiration from his Boku no Hero (My Hero) one-shot that was published in the 2008 Winter issue of Akamaru Jump. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump in July 2014 and ended in August 2024. Shueisha published the 42nd and final volume in December 2024.
VIZ Media simulpublishes the manga in English with the Japanese release. The 42nd and final volume shipped on October 21. Shueisha's Manga Plus platform also simulpublishes the manga in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, Thai, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese.
