Mobile Game 'The iDOLM@STER Million Live!' Gets TV Anime Adaptation
The broadcast of The iDOLM@STER Mirishita 3rd Anniversary!! Challenge Tomorrow! Anniversary Live! on Saturday announced that the popular The iDOLM@STER Million Live! mobile game will receive a TV anime adaption.
The game was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in February 2013 on Android and in December 2014 on iOS. It was shut down in March 2019 and content and updates were moved to the then new title Theatre Days, which was released in 2017. The 37 new idols who appeared in The iDOLM@STER Million Live! were also featured in the LIVE THE@TER CDs.
Shinya Watada (Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise) will be helming the series at the animation studio Shirogumi and Youichi Katou (Youkai Watch!) will be in charge of the script and series composition.
Bandai Namco Entertainment's The iDOLM@STER is a multimedia franchise that began with an arcade game in 2005. The first anime series in the franchise, iDOLM@STER Xenoglossia, was produced by Sunrise and aired for 26 episodes in 2007. It was followed by more faithful adaptations of the games in the form of TV anime, movies, OVAs, and specials. Notable adaptations include A-1 Pictures' The iDOLM@STER—the franchise's first full-length TV anime adaptation—in 2011 and The iDOLM@STER Side M in 2018.
