The official website of the Haikyuu!! (Haikyu!!) anime series announced a two-part sequel movie on Saturday, titled Haikyuu!! Final (Haikyu!! Final). The website also revealed an announcement promo and a teaser visual (pictured).
Haruichi Furudate originally published two one-shots in Shounen Jump NEXT and Weekly Shounen Jump in January and April 2011. The latter began serializing the volleyball manga in February 2012 and ended its eight-year-run in July 2020. Shueisha published the 45th and final volume in November that year. Haikyuu!! has a cumulative 50 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Production I.G produced the first three seasons in Spring 2014, Fall 2015, and Fall 2016. The fourth season, Haikyuu!!: To the Top, aired in split cours in Winter and Fall 2020. The manga also inspired four compilation films between July 2015 and September 2017.
Crunchyroll simulcast the seasons with subtitles as they aired in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime series in North America and released the first three seasons on home video in June 2015, April 2018, and November 2019, and later with an English dub. The fourth season shipped on March 29.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English under its Shounen Jump imprint in 2016. The company simulpublished the chapters with the Japanese release on its Shounen Jump platform. The 45th and final volume shipped last August.
Haikyuu!! won the 61st Shogakukan Manga Awards in the Shounen category in 2015.
