Animated CM 'Cross Road' for Z-Kai by Makoto Shinkai Revealed
Makoto Shinkai has created another animated commercial titled Cross Road for Z-Kai, a correspondence education service. The CM and included song, which is sung by Nagi Yanagi, was released in 15-, 30-, and 120-second versions on YouTube, NicoNico, and two selective TV channels (only on February 25 and 26, 2014 which only aired the 30-second version). The lyrics of the song were written by Shinkai himself. Masayoshi Tanaka (AnoHana, Toradora!) designed the characters.
Synopsis:
The story of Cross Road centers on high-school students Miho (Ayane Sakura) and Shouta (Kensho Ono) as they prepare for entrance exams for university in Tokyo. Miho comes from an island without even one cram school, while Shouta lives in Tokyo and works a part-time job. Both are striving to pass the exams so they can enter university. The pair enroll in Z-Kai's correspondence education courses, and their lives cross before they realize it. (Source: ANN, edited)
