Recent Licenses in the US

FUNimation has acquired the U.S. internet streaming and home video rights to the TV anime Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam and will release the series as "LASTEXILE -Fam, the Silver Wing-". No release details have been made however the world premiere of the first episode was shown at Anime Expo 2011.

Maiden Japan, using Section23 Films as its distributor, has acquired the Spring 2006 TV anime Himawari!. Maiden Japan will release the 13 episode series with English subtitles on DVD and in digital formats however no release date has been announced yet.

Media Blasters has acquired both seasons of the TV anime Bakuman. Media Blasters will release the series on DVD using their AnimeWorks label starting this November with the first seven episodes and will include an English dub. The second season of Bakuman will start airing this October.

In addition to their license of Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica, Aniplex of America also announced their license of Ao no Exorcist at their panel at Anime Expo. The first of four DVD sets ship this October, while the remaining volumes are tentatively slated to ship in January, April, and July of 2012. No details were given if it will be dub/sub or sub only.


Viz Media announced at their panel at Anime Expo their licenses for the two anime movies Layton Kyouju to Eien no Utahime and Bleach: Fade to Black - Kimi no Na wo Yobu. No details for the release date of the Professor Layton film were given however the Bleach movie will be released on DVD/Blu-ray on November 15th.

Viz Media also announced at their panel at Anime Expo their simulcast for Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyou which they will stream on their website and Hulu as "Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan - Demon Capital".

Bandai announced at their panel at Anime Expo their license for the TV anime Sacred Seven which premiered recently in Japan on July 3rd. They will simulcast the series on Hulu and Crunchyroll starting July 8th. No release details for the series were announced.
