'Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken' Reveals Additional Cast

The official website for the new television anime adaptation of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (Dragon Quest: Dai's Great Adventure) announced seven additional cast members on Tuesday. The anime will premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu in October 2020.

Hadlar: Tomokazu Seki (Kimesu no Yaiba)
Crocodine: Tomoaki Maeno (Enen no Shouboutai)
Flazzard: Tooru Nara (Boku no Hero Academia)
Myst-Vearn: Takehito Koyasu (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu)
Zaboera: Mitsuo Iwata (Akira)
Baran: Show Hayami (Somali to Mori no Kamisama)
Vearn: Takaya Hashi (Beastars)

The seven new cast members will be joining the recently announced Kenichi Ogata (One Punch Man) as Brass and Ai Furihata (Love Live! Sunshine!!) as Gome-Chan. The main cast was announced in May, and features Atsumi Tanezaki (Mahoutsukai no Yome) as Dai and Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Gamers!) as Popp.

Kazuya Karasawa (Dragon Ball Super episode director) is directing the series at Toei Animation. Katsuhiki Chiba (Seihou Bukyou Outlaw Star) is in charge of the series composition and Yuuki Hayashi (Boku no Hero Academia) is composing the music.

Riku Sanjou and Koji Inada's original manga was first serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump between 1989 and 1996. Toei Animation produced the Fall 1991 anime adaption which aired until 1992.
