'Tenchi Souzou Design-bu' Unveils Main Cast
The official website of the Tenchi Souzou Design-bu (Heaven's Design Team) television anime revealed its main cast on Monday. The anime is set to premiere in 2021.
Synopsis
In Heaven's Animal Design Department, designers create a variety of new animals daily while contending with the unreasonable requests of their client: God. This series answers questions such as, "Why can't unicorns exist?", "What makes an animal taste delicious?", "What's the most powerful creature in the ocean?", and "Bird versus snake: who would win?" Souichi Masui (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is helming the series at Asahi Production. Michiko Yokote (Midara na Ao-chan wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) is handling series composition, and Sachiko Oohashi (Somali to Mori no Kamisama sub-character design) is designing the characters.
The fantasy comedy is based on the manga series of the same name by Tsuta Suzuki, Hebizou, and Tarako. It has been serialized in Morning Two magazine since 2017. Kodansha published the fifth and most recent volume on April 23.
Kodansha Comics USA has licensed the manga in English and published it digitally since May 2018. They released the fourth volume in December 2019.
