'Uchouten Kazoku' Gets Sequel
An announcement made by P.A. Works at the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair this year revealed that Uchouten Kazoku (The Eccentric Family) will be getting an anime sequel. The series is P.A. Works' first sequel and staff from the first season will return. In addition, the main cast of the first season will also be resuming their roles.
The first season aired from July to September 2013 for a total of 13 episodes. It was the only TV anime to win the Excellence Award at the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2013. A manga adaptation was also published with four volumes. The second season will be based on the second volume of the novel titled Uchouten Kazoku Nidaime No Kicho which was published by Gentosha in February 2015, and third (and possibly final) volume announcement has been made by author Tomihiko Morimi at the end of the second volume.
