The 10th year anniversary event for the Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) anime series announced a sixth season on Saturday, revealing an announcement video.

Produced by J.C.Staff, the 13-episode first anime season aired in Spring 2015, followed by a second and third season in Summer 2019 and Fall 2020. The fourth season aired in split cours in Summer 2022 and Winter 2023. The fifth and latest season aired in 15 episodes in Fall 2024.

The Orion no Ya (Arrow of the Orion) side story anime movie opened in Japan in February 2019.

Warner Bros. Japan released three original video anime (OVA) episodes in December 2016, January 2020, and April 2021.

The anime series, abbreviated as DanMachi, adapts Fujino Omori's adventure fantasy light novel, which he originally submitted for the 4th GA Bunko Award in 2012 and received a publication offer. SB Creative began publishing the novel with illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda in January 2013 and released the 21st volume on October 11 last year. DanMachi has a cumulative 20 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Young Gangan serialized a manga adaptation by Kunieda from August 2013 to September 2018. Taisei Yagami began drawing a second manga adaptation on the same magazine in December 2019. Square Enix published the sixth volume in February 2025.

Yen Press licensed both the manga and light novel in English in October 2014 and December 2014, respectively. The 16th manga volume shipped in December 2025, and the 19th novel volume released in August 2024.

J.C.Staff also produced a 12-episode television anime adaptation of Omori and illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura's Sword Oratoria side-story novel in Spring 2017, adapting the first four volumes. SB Creative published the 16th volume last October. Square Enix also released the 32nd volume of Takashi Yagi's manga adaptation in that month.
