Manga 'Hunter x Hunter' Resumes Serialization in April
The 16th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump, which will go on sale on March 19, has announced that Yoshihiro Togashi's action fantasy manga Hunter x Hunter will resume serialization in the magazine's 20th issue, which will go on sale on April 18.
Hunter x Hunter first began serialization in 1998 but has gone on several long breaks in publication since 2006. The series last returned to serialization in June 2014 before going hiatus again two months later so that Togashi could undergo treatment for lower back pain.
A fan website was recently set up to track the issues of Weekly Shounen Jump in which Hunter x Hunter did and did not appear. Shounen Jump+ has also opened a special website that is selling back issues of the magazine containing chapters of Hunter x Hunter not yet published in tankobon format.
The series was first adapted into a TV anime between 1999 and 2001. A new TV anime which adapts the manga more faithfully aired between 2011 and 2014.
