Illustrator loundraw Announces New Multimedia Project

An official website opened for a new multimedia project from illustrator loundraw on Friday. Titled Project Common, it will serve as a platform for loundraw's introspective ideas and creations, culminating in a short animation backed by the artist's recently established production company, Flat Studio. No concrete plans for future works have been revealed at this time.

Flat Studio also announced that author Tetsuya Sano, character designer Reoen, illustrator banishment, animator Merrill Macnaut, director Tomotaka Wakumoto, and animator asano66 have teamed up with loundraw and director Ryou Ishii at the studio. loundraw and Ishii were previously the only two members.

Alongside the announcement of new hires, Sano unveiled his "story production" team Kotsukotsu, which features writer Ai Iwasawa, mangaka and musician Shouichi Taguchi, and writer Shion Yuuki. Although it was not explicitly stated that the collective will be involved with Project Common, they are expected to collaborate with loundraw and Flat Studio in the future.

The proposed short animation for Project Common would be the fourth production from Flat Studio. The studio previously produced one of two advertisements for the Line Novel online service in April 2019, and in June 2019 contributed to a trailer for the art and music group Chronicle's song "Cosmos." Flat Studio was also credited in loundraw's graduation project Yume ga Sameru made (Before You Wake Up) prior to becoming an official company.

Outside of his independent creations, loundraw is recognized for designing the characters for the anime film adaptation of Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas) and the original television anime Tsuki ga Kirei (As the Moon, So Beautiful.). He was the artist for Aozora to Kumorizora and collaborated with Sugaru Miaki (Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de.) in writing its story.
