'Tougen Anki' Anime Sequel Announced
The 24th and final episode of Tougen Anki ended with an announcement on Monday that a sequel adapting the Nikko Kegon no Taki-hen (Nikko Kegon Falls Arc) from Yura Urushibara's action fantasy manga is in production. The official website also revealed an annoucement promo and a teaser visual (pictured).
Produced by Studio Hibari, the first season began airing on July 11. Crunchyroll and Netflix simulcasted the anime with subtitles in multiple languages.
Urushibara began serializing the manga in Weekly Shounen Champion in June 2020. Akita Shoten published the 27th volume on December 8. Tougen Anki has a cumulative 5 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English in March 2024 and published the fourth volume on November 4, with the fifth volume planned for a May 26, 2026 release.
