New 'Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken' Anime Reveals Additional Cast

The official website for the on-going television anime adaptation of Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken manga revealed on Saturday additional cast. Two of the announced characters, Meruru and Navara, will debut in the 22nd episode, scheduled to air on March 6.

Navara: Tomoko Shiota (Nihon Chinbotsu 2020)
Rahalt: Akira Ishida (Sword Art Online: Alicization)
Borahorn: Kenji Sugimura (Haikyuu!!: Karasuno Koukou vs. Shiratorizawa Gakuen Koukou)
Gardandy: Subaru Kimura (Akudama Drive)

Kazuya Karasawa (Dragon Ball Super Movie: Broly assistant director) is helming the series at Toei Animation and Katsuhiko Chiba (Baby Steps) is handling the series composition. Emiko Miyamoto (Mahoutsukai Precure!) is the character designer and Yuki Hayashi (Boku no Hero Academia) is producing the music.

Based on Square Enix's Dragon Quest games, Riku Sanjou and Koji Inada serialized the fantasy adventure manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from October 1989 to November 1996. Toei Animation previously adapted the manga as a 46-episode television anime between October 1991 and September 1992.
