'Maou 2099' Announces Lead Cast, Production Studio
The Aniplex Online Fest 2023 event revealed the lead cast, a second teaser visual (pictured), and the production studio for the anime series adapting Daigo Murasaki's Maou 2099 (Demon Lord 2099) light novel on Sunday.
Voice actors Satoshi Hino (Overlord) and Miku Itou (Takt Op. Destiny) are starring as Demon Lord Veltol and Machina, respectively. J.C.Staff (Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru, Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator) is producing the anime.
Murasaki won the Grand Prize at the 33rd Fantasia Taisho with the title Ken to Maou no Cyberpunk in 2020. He renamed the work to Maou 2099 and began publishing it under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label in January 2021. Kadokawa published the third volume on June 20.
Shounen Ace Plus began serializing a manga adaptation by Kiiro Akashiro in November 2021, which discontinued last June. A new manga adaptation by Yutaka Sakurai launched in the same magazine on March 22.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in July 2021 and released the first volume in March 2022. The second volume went on sale last July.
