Manga 'Tono to Inu' Receives Anime
Production company Pony Canyon opened an official website for an anime adaptation of Rie Nishida's Tono to Inu (The Lord and the Dog) manga on Thursday.
Nishida originally launched the manga on their Twitter account in November 2020 before officially beginning on the Comic Polaris web magazine in March 2021 as a short-term serialization. They then began regular serialization in October of that year. Flex Comix released the second volume last May, with the third volume planned for a February 15 release.
Synopsis
In the warring states era, there were those who performed feats resembling demons or gods—though that is now a thing of the past. The Lord now lives in a completely declined and impoverished tenement. The Lord who has fallen into such circumstances, encounters a single dog. Feeling pity for its peculiar short-limbed appearance, the Lord reaches out a hand, but soon becomes amused by its mischievous behaviors. Thus begins the cohabitation of the fearsome Lord and cheerful dog, bringing peace and harmony to their lives!
