Producer Company of Appleseed Movies Goes Bankrupt

According to Anime!Anime!, Japanese movie producer Micott & Basara Inc. filed for bankruptcy on April 21st. Micott produced Appleseed (2004) and Appleseed Saga Ex Machina, and has been producing the upcoming anime Appleseed XIII. Their business had stumbled over a lawsuit on the failed production of Appleseed Genesis in 2008. They tried to recover their financial status by profiting off of Appleseed XIII but were not able to make it.

The production of Appleseed XIII will be continued by other members of the production committee.
