'Golden Kamuy' Gets Third Anime Season

A third anime season for Golden Kamuy was announced at the franchise's special event in Tokyo on Sunday. The official website also revealed a key visual (pictured) for the new season.
Golden Kamuy adapts Satoru Noda's historical adventure manga, which began its serialization in Young Jump magazine in August 2014. Shueisha published the 18th volume on June 19. The 19th volume, scheduled for a September 19 release, will bundle the third original video episode covering the Monster arc. Golden Kamuy has a cumulative 10 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.
Geno Studio produced the first anime season in Spring 2018, which was simulcast by Crunchyroll. Funimation also streamed a dubbed edition simultaneously. The second season premiered in October of the same year.
Golden Kamuy was voted first in the 9th Manga Taisho rankings, received the Grand Prize in the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and placed seventh in the male readers' division in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Rankings.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2016 and published the tenth volume on June 18. The 11th volume is planned for an August 20 release.
