'Mato Seihei no Slave 2' Announces New Staff, 2026 Airing
The Mato Seihei no Slave (Chained Soldier) stage at the Pony Canyon booth at AnimeJapan 2025 revealed new staff and the first key visual (pictured) for Mato Seihei no Slave 2 (Chained Soldier Season 2) on Sunday. The second season adapting Takahiro and Youhei Takemura's action fantasy manga will air in 2026.

Masafumi Tamura (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) is directing the second season, replacing Junji Nishimura. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is returning to handle the series composition. Keiya Nakano (Hitoribocchi no Isekai Kouryaku) is designing the characters, replacing Hiroyuki Yoshii.
The first season, produced by Seven Arcs, aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2024. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime in North America and simulcast it on HIDIVE.
Takahiro and Takemura began serializing the manga on the Shounen Jump+ web magazine in January 2019. Shueisha published the 17th volume on December 4 last year.
Yen Press licensed the manga in English in December 2021. The tenth volume went on sale on January 21, with the 11th volume planned for an April 22 release.
