'Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! 2nd Season' Announces Pair of Additional Cast

The official website of the Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! 2nd Season (The Eminence in Shadow Season 2) television anime announced a pair of additional cast and a second key visual (pictured) on Wednesday. The anime premiered on October 4 at 10:30 p.m. on AT-X, followed by Tokyo MX, TV Aichi, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS NTV.
Jun Fukuyama (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu) and Daisuke Namikawa (Haikyuu!!) are joining the cast as John Smith and Gettan, respectively.
Kazuya Nakanishi (Comic Girls assistant director) is directing the anime at Nexus. Kanichi Katou (Mashiro no Oto) is handling the series composition and Makoto Iino (Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari) is designing the characters. Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu) is composing the music.
The anime adapts Daisuke Aizawa's comedy fantasy novel, which launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in May 2018. Kadokawa began publishing the series through its Enterbrain label with illustrations by Touzai in November of that year and released the fifth volume in December 2022. The sixth volume is scheduled to be released on October 30.
Anri Sakano (Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou desu yo? Z) launched a manga adaptation in Monthly Comp Ace in December 2018. The magazine also began serializing a spin-off by Seta U in July 2019. Kadokawa shipped the twelfth and sixth volumes of each manga, respectively, on October 26.
Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga in English in May 2019 and January 2021, respectively. The fourth light novel volume went on sale in June 2022, and the seventh manga volume was released on July 18.
