'Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre' Second Season Reveals Additional Cast, Theme Songs, First Promo
The official website of the Baki anime series revealed a pair of additional cast, theme songs artists, key visual (pictured), and a promotional video for the second season of Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre on Thursday. The first part will be released worldwide on Netflix on July 26, while the second part will premiere on August 24.
Takeshi Kusao (Dragon Ball Z) and Nobuo Tobita (Hellsing Ultimate) are joining the cast as Pickle and Albert Payne, respectively.
Rock band Wagakki Band (Sousei no Onmyouji, Mars Red) is performing the opening theme "The Beast." The unit UPSTART, composed of Da-iCE member Souta Hanamura and Youtuber Hikaru, will perform the ending theme "WILDER." Both theme songs are previewed in the promotional video below.
Toshiki Hirano (Baki) returns to direct the new season at TMS Entertainment. Other returning staff includes Tatsuhiko Urahata (Muv-Luv Alternative) as series composition, Shingo Ishikawa (Baki: Dai Raitaisai-hen) as character designer, and Kenji Fujisawa (Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi) as music composer.
Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre adapts Keisuke Itagaki's sequel manga, which he launched in December 2005, following the ending of Baki: New Grappler Baki the month prior. The manga concluded in Shounen Champion in August 2012.
Itagaki then ran Baki-dou in the same magazine from March 2014 to April 2018, and began its second part in October that year. The 15th volume was released on February 8.
