'Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu.' Reveals Supporting Cast Pair, "Golden Bath" Promo
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yuushi Ukai's Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu. (Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) light novel revealed a supporting pair of cast and the "Golden Bath" promotional video on Friday.
The anime series premiered with a 60-minute special on Tokyo MX, followed by ABC TV and WOWOW, at 11:00 p.m. on January 7. From episode two onward, it aired at 11:30 p.m. and streamed on Netflix and other platforms in Japan.
Voice actresses Haruka Oribe (Tensei Akujo no Kuro Rekishi) and Sumire Morohoshi (Violet Evergarden) are joining the cast as Azuma and Riko, respectively.
Souta Ueno (Gimai Seikatsu) is helming the anime at Studio Deen. Rintarou Ikeda (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is handling the series composition. Eri Osada (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) is designing the characters, while Junichi Matsumoto (Mahoutsukai no Yome) is composing the music.
Ukai began penning the action suspense light novel under the MF Bunko J imprint with illustrations by Necometal in November 2022. Kadokawa published the ninth volume on January 23.
Monthly Comp Ace began serializing a manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai in April 2023. Kadokawa released the fifth volume on January 23.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English in July 2023 and released the fourth volume in August 2025. The fifth volume is set to be released on February 10.
