New 'High School! Kimengumi' TV Anime Announces Additional Cast Pair
The official website for the new television anime adaptation of Motoei Shinzawa's High School! Kimengumi (High School! Funny-face Club) manga announced an additional pair of cast on Friday. The new anime aired at 11:30 p.m. on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block on January 9.
Voice actors Yasunori Matsumoto (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Gou) and Sayumi Suzushiro (Tougen Anki) are joining the cast as Gorou Mutsu and Pochi, respectively.
Kazuaki Seki (Ranma ½ (2024) opening sequence director) is helming the new anime at Seven. Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombieland Saga) is in charge of the series composition, while Yuka Abe (Fire Force: Season 2 animation director) is designing the characters.
Shinzawa serialized the original 3-nen Kimengumi (Third Year Funny-face Club) manga in Weekly Shounen Jump from October 1980 to April 1982, followed by the High School! Kimengumi sequel manga in the same magazine from April 1982 to July 1987. Shueisha published the 20th and final volume in February 1988.
