'Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love' Special Commemorates TV Anime's 10th Anniversary
A special episode for the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love anime series was announced on the first day of the franchise's 7th Stage concert on Saturday. The one-hour special commemorates both the television anime's 10th anniversary and the first ST☆RISH Tours film's premiere next year.
The first installment of the Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love ST☆RISH Tours film series will open in Japan in 2022. The film series, described as a completely original work, will depict the live performances by the ST☆RISH idol group.
Music composer Noriyasu Agematsu (Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Legend Star) and media company Broccoli are credited for the original work. Music production group Elements Garden (Dance with Devils) is returning to compose the music. A-1 Pictures is producing the film, with Shochiku in charge of distribution.
A-1 Pictures adapted Broccoli's otome game into four anime seasons in Summer 2011, Spring 2013, Spring 2015, and Fall 2016—each running for 13 episodes. The second season's seventh home video release bundled a special episode in December 2013. Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Kingdom, the first anime film in the franchise, premiered in Japan in June 2019, grossing over 1.82 million yen (approximately US$16.6 million).
