Eleven Arts Acquires 'Shirobako' Anime Movie

American film production and distribution company Eleven Arts announced its acquisition of the Shirobako Movie on Tuesday. The company will unveil an extended trailer for the movie during its industry panel at the Anime NYC Online event on Friday at 5:00 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. EST).

Synopsis
Four years after the events of Shirobako the series, Musashino Animation has gone through unprecedented changes and things are looking bleak for the studio. One day, Aoi Miyamori is offered a role managing a new theatrical animation project. With only a few months left before the deadline, can MusAni complete the project in its current state? It's up to Aoi to work alongside both familiar faces and new to finish the project in time! (Source: Eleven Arts)

Shirobako marks the second work-themed original anime by P.A. Works after Hanasaku Iroha in 2011. The 24-episode anime series aired in Fall 2014 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll. The third and seventh home video releases included two special episodes in February and July 2015.

The sequel movie premiered in Japan on February 29. The movie was re-screened in theaters featuring remastered footage on August 28.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the television anime in North America in November 2014 and released it on two home video installments in the first quarter of 2016, and with an English dub on October 13. Madman Entertainment also licensed the anime in Australia and New Zealand and released it on a DVD volume in December 2016.
