'Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!' Unveils Main Cast, First Promo
The official website of the Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! (Go For It, Nakamura!) television anime revealed the main cast and the first promotional video on Saturday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025.
Chiaki Kobayashi (SK∞) and Yuuki Sakakihara (Dead Mount Death Play) are starring as Okuto Nakamura and Aiki Hirose, respectively. Kappei Yamaguchi (Ranma ½) and Junko Takeuchi (Naruto), who voiced the main duo in the series' audio drama, are also part of the anime's cast as unannounced characters.
Aoi Umeki (Poputepipikku) is directing as well as designing the characters at Drive. Yasuko Aoki (Studio Monad) (Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi) is handling the series composition and penning the script with Umeki. Ayana Tsujita (Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji) is composing the music.
Syundei drew the boys love manga in Opera magazine from December 2014 to August 2016. The Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! (Go for It Again, Nakamura!) sequel began in the same magazine in June 2017. Akane Shinsha published the original manga and the sequel in May 2017 and August 2021, and released a new edition of each on August 16. The manga is scheduled to return from hiatus this winter and serialize on Comiplex website.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both manga in English in 2017 and 2021. The first volume was released in July 2018, followed by the second volume in July 2022.
