'Masamune-kun no Revenge' Gets Second Anime Season

The official website of the Masamune-kun no Revenge (Masamune-kun's Revenge) television anime announced on Saturday that a second season, titled Masamune-kun no Revenge R, is in production.

The first anime series produced by Silver Link. aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2017. An original video animation was released in July 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the first season with subtitles and an English dub, respectively.

The anime series adapts Hazuki Takeoka and Tiv's romantic comedy manga, which serialized in Comic REX magazine from October 2012 to June 2018. Ichijinsha shipped the 11th and final volume in April 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in September 2015 and released the final volume in May 2020.

Synopsis
When Masamune Makabe was a child, he was rejected by a rich, beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who gave him the nickname ''Piggy'' for being overweight. Devastated, Masamune put great effort into working out to improve his appearance. Now a handsome yet narcissistic high school student, Masamune is determined to exact revenge—he will have Aki fall madly in love with him and ultimately reject her the next time they meet.

To his surprise, Masamune discovers he has transferred into Aki's school. Setting his plan into motion, Masamune first begins to form a relationship with the ''Brutal Princess'' but, despite his efforts, fails miserably at his initial attempts. Shockingly, when Masamune finally progresses towards his vengeance, he receives a mysterious letter addressing him by his old nickname.
