TV Anime 'Housekishou Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei' Reveals Lead Cast, Staff

The official website for Shuka's TV anime adaptation of Nanako Tsujimura's mystery light novel Housekishou Richard-shi no Nazo Kantei (The Case Files of Jeweler Richard) revealed the main cast and staff members, in addition to a teaser video, on Tuesday. The anime will premiere in January 2020.

Takahiro Sakurai (Babylon) will voice Richard Ranashinha Dvorpian, a handsome British jewelry appraiser, and Yuuma Uchida (Given) will voice the bright and upright Japanese college student Seigi Nakata.

Masakazu Kawazoe (D.Gray-man Hallow key animation) is credited as "Richard Supervisor" and will be responsible for the animation surrounding Richard's movement and behaviour. The studio will also hire jewel appraiser Naokazu Kudou, who is also the representative director of the Japan Jewel Patent Judgment Association, to supervise the animation used for the jewels.

Shueisha has been printing Tsujimura's novels under its Orange Bunko imprint since December 2015. The novel is split into two parts, with volumes one through six being an omnibus of short stories. The second part begins from volume seven, where the novels feature full-length stories. Shueisha shipped the ninth volume on August 21.
