The 38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump, which released today, has announced that the anime adaptation of Boku no Hero Academia will be getting a special episode to be screened during this year's Jump Festa Anime tour on November 27 and December 4. The special episode is an original story, planned by the mangaka Kouhei Horikoshi, that will take place between the first and second seasons.
Jump Festa is an event that takes place in several big cities, with this year's being hosted in five cities across Japan. The event hosts anime screenings and cast member talk shows where series that are serialized in the Shounen Jump magazines are shown. So far, the other works that have been announced to participate are Shokugeki no Souma, Sousei no Onmyouji, and Isobe Isobee Monogatari: Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo. More information will be announced in the 39th issue releasing on August 29, 2016.
Boku no Hero Academia began its serialization July 2014 and received a 13-episode anime adaptation by studio Bones in Spring 2016. The TV anime was licensed and simulcast by FUNimation Entertainment. Viz media licensed the manga, with the fifth volume released in August.
