Light Novel 'Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu' Gets TV Anime in Spring 2022
Publishing company Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Yomu Mishima's Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) on Thursday, revealing the main staff, cast, a teaser visual (pictured), and first promotional video. The anime series is scheduled for an April 2022 airing.

Synopsis

Mishima began penning the fantasy romance novel, also known by its short title MobSeka, on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2017. Micro Magazine began publishing the series through its GC Novels imprint in May 2018. The eighth volume shipped on June 30, with the ninth volume scheduled for release on November 30. MobSeka has a cumulative 760,000 copies of its volumes in print.
A manga adaptation by Jun Shiosato began serialization under Nico Nico Seiga's Dra-Dra-Dragon Age digital manga portal—now Dra-Dra Sharp#—in October 2018. Kadokawa published the sixth volume on July 9. The publisher's ComicWalker platform also serializes the manga.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English last April and December, respectively. The third novel volume shipped physically on September 21, with the fourth novel released digitally on November 18. The second manga volume shipped on October 5.
MobSeka placed eighth in the tankobon category in the 2020 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings.
