Publisher Shogakukan announced on Thursday that a sequel to the Kengan Ashura anime series is in production and will adapt the finals of the Kengan Annihilation Tournament and the conclusion of the original story. The new sequel adapting Yabako Sandrovich and Daromeon's action manga will release worldwide exclusively on Netflix.

Larx Entertainment produced the first season, which was split into two parts of 12 episodes each and premiered in 2019. Netflix streamed both parts with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

Sandrovich and Daromeon serialized the first manga series in Ura Sunday magazine from April 2012 to August 2018. Shogakukan released the 27th and final volume in February 2019. The duo began serializing a sequel manga, titled Kengan Omega, in the same magazine in January 2019. The tenth volume was released on September 16.

Synopsis
Business deals are usually made through meetings and contracts; but in the world of Kengan Ashura, businesses resort to other means to make their decisions: by hiring gladiators. Yabako Sandrovich's Kengan Ashura depicts a world brimming with action, violence, and martial arts—one where powerful gladiators have fought in grand arenas since the Edo Period to settle the disputes of wealthy businesses and merchants.

Ouma Tokita, who is nicknamed "The Ashura," is a fighter trying to prove himself as the strongest. Hideki Nogi, a member of the Nogi Group, hires Ouma to fight for him and makes Kazuo Yamashita, an average middle-aged man, his manager. The duo is thrown into fights facilitated by the Kengan Association. Their journey will be full of ruthless battles with other fighters aiming for the same goal. Do they have what it takes to be the best? [Written by MAL Rewrite]
