Manga 'Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange' Gets TV Anime in 2023
Publisher Kodansha opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Masahito Soda and Kuro Tomiyama's Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange manga on Thursday and announced the main staff. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
Masahiko Murata (Fumetsu no Anata e, Baby Steps) is directing the anime at animation studio Brain's Base.
Soda serialized the original action drama manga series in 20 volumes on the Shounen Sunday magazine from August 1995 to June 1999.
The sequel manga, Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange, began serialization on the Monthly Shounen Magazine in October 2020. Kodansha shipped the sixth volume on December 15.
In 1996, Megumi no Daigo won the Shogakukan Manga Award in the shounen category, and in 1998, it won the Excellence Award in the manga category of the 2nd Japan Media Arts Festival. Both manga has a total cumulative 14 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
