Kenichi Sonoda's New Anime Project 'Bean Bandit' Announces Staff and Cast Members

Kenichi Sonoda's new anime project Bean Bandit has announced staff and cast members. A crowdfunding project was announced during Anime Central last May when the new GunSmith Cats short was screened, and the goal was reached within a month. The anime will be screened at Anime Central this year.

The initial goal for the anime project was to produce a five-minute animation. It later announced additional milestones where the length of the animation would be increased for each subsequential milestone met, with a limit of 20 minutes per episode that also included an opening sequence. The anime will have both Japanese and English audio versions, as well as an English subtitled one. A new crowdfunding project for the opening and ending scenes, Blu-ray discs, direct download availability and more, also launched. Production for the series began last December.

Bean Bandit is a new OVA based on the Riding Bean OVA released on February 1989. Sonoda serialized the manga version via Monthly Comic Noizy, which was left unfinished due to the magazine ending its publication. It was later included in a revised edition of the final volume of GunSmith Cats' spin-off manga.
