'Golden Kamuy' Gets Fourth Anime Season

The 2021 special event for the Golden Kamuy television anime announced a fourth season on Sunday. The event also revealed new staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and an announcement promo.

Golden Kamuy adapts Satoru Noda's historical adventure manga, which began in Young Jump magazine in August 2014. Shueisha shipped the 27th volume on September 22. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in October 2016 and will release the 24th volume on December 21. The manga has a cumulative 17 million copies in circulation.

The three seasons produced by Geno Studio aired in Spring 2018, Fall 2018, and Fall 2020, each running for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed all three seasons with subtitles and an English dub, respectively.

Golden Kamuy ranked first in the 9th Manga Taisho rankings, received the Grand Prize in the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and placed seventh in the male readers' division in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings.
