Survival Game Manga 'Aoharu x Kikanjuu' Gets TV Anime
A scan of the wrap-around band of manga Aoharu x Kikanjuu's sixth volume reveals that a TV anime adaptation will be announced with the volume's release on February 27.
The survival game manga series started as one of three one-shots created by debut mangaka NAOE for Gangan Online. Released on July 28, 2011, it follows childhood friends Yukki and Matsuoka. While children, they dreamed of pursuing professional soccer. Now a hentai mangaka, Yukki reunites with Matsuoka and is introduced to his new passion: survival games.
After it gained popularity, a sequel one-shot consisting of two parts was published in GFantasy starting June 18, 2012. The new one-shot introduced Hotaru, a high school girl who dresses as a boy. She goes to confront a host that tricked her best friend out of her money, only to find out that he is none other than her neighbor, Matsuoka…
The series was finally promoted to a full series in GFantasy's February 2013 issue. A PV was released for the manga in September 2014.
