'Awajima Hyakkei' Unveils Main Cast Pair, First Promo, Spring 2026 Premiere
The official website for the television anime adaptation of Takako Shimura's Awajima Hyakkei (One Hundred Views of Awajima) web manga revealed a pair of main cast, character visual (pictured), and the first promotional video on Friday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2026.
Voice actresses Niina Nakabayashi (Takopii no Genzai) and You Taichi (Majo to Yajuu) are starring as Wakana Tabata and Kinue Takehara, respectively.
Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, Cardcaptor Sakura) is directing the anime at Madhouse. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen, Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) is handling the series composition. Kunihiko Hamada (Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru, Nana) is designing the characters. Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland, Shoushimin Series) is composing the music
Shimura began serializing the school drama manga on the pocopoco website in June 2011. The manga then switched to the Oota Web Comic site in 2016, where it ended on March 15. Oota Publishing published the fifth and final volume in May 2024.
