Synopsis
Shallow girl learns to value feelings over looks through gardening otaku's lettuce.
Yuki Takeshita is fed up with facing rejection from boys she likes due to her ugly appearance in middle school. Now in high school, she vows to transform herself into the most fashionable girl in her grade, even if it gets her in trouble with her teachers. In order to retrieve an expensive nail polish that was confiscated, Takeshita is forced to interact with the school's "agriculture otaku" Takeshi Arashiyama: a boy who enthusiastically spends his days creating a vegetable garden on school grounds. Students regularly bully Arashiyama for doing such unsophisticated work, including Takeshita herself—until she gets a taste of a head of lettuce grown by Arashiyama and finds it delicious. As her budding interest in Arashiyama grows despite her distaste for the work behind his hobby, Takeshita must decide what is more important: her appearance, or her feelings.
